Bombay Presidency Golf Club
The Bombay Presidency Club (BPGC) has a special place in India’s golf history. Not only has it hosted a number of tournaments including the Indian Open but is also the oldest club in the city. Golf was first played here in 1927.
BPGC offers total concept of golf- leisure, dining, entertainment, living accommodation, conference room, gymnasium, banquet hall, academy and a newly re-laid golf course. The 6189 yards par 70 course is amongst the most testing and the greens are rated amongst the finest in the country, lightning fast in the season especially from November to May.
The course is complemented by craftily strategic bunkering, which makes tee shots extremely tight. This in turn creates demanding second shots. All the par fours and fives are reachable, provided one is accurate while par threes can be tricky. The fairways are narrow and tight, but its greens are undoubtedly the best in the country. It is not a difficult course. It’s not too long, not too narrow, and yet not an easy course to break par.
The BPGC is ideally located amongst 85 acres of lush green fairway at CHEMBUR, a central suburb of Mumbai, just a 50 minutes drive from the Airport or from the southern end GATEWAY OF INDIA.
Covering more than 100 acres / 40 hectares, the Bombay Presidency Golf Club is not only one of the best golf courses in Mumbai; it is highly regarded throughout the whole of India and simply not to be missed.
